HOW CAN I GIVE MY BEST SHOT AT WRITING MY OWN NOVEL 

Learn to write everyday.

Writing a novel takes time and requires you to write everyday. So first learn and make it a habit of writing everyday. This is one of the hardest things to accomplish.

How to go about it

There are different ways to go about writing a novel, you need to find your own way.

There two most simplest forms are:

A. You start writing and let the story flow

B. You plan out how your novel is going to flow

 

Whatever it is, don't stop trying.

start outlining first. If you don’t like where the idea is going, it is much easier to change the outline than the entire manuscript. I’m a big fan of outlining. The format doesn’t matter. For me, it is a list of scenes, with some notes of dialogue and minor details to remind me more, and scene order. (The order is done later and is fluid.)

To help you with your craft, you read a lot. About craft, inspiration, dialogue, character development, structure….everything. You also read other screenplays and novels. For screenplay writing, it is okay to watch movies too, as long as you also read screenplays.

Then you write. And rewrite. Edit. Keep writing.
